Our First Five Favourites from Craft Festival Cardiff
Katherine Sorrell is a style journalist and interiors writer who has a passion for craft. We asked her to kick off this season's 5 Favourites from Cardiff. We proudly host Craft Festival in the Welsh capital and we've also teamed up with Say Something in Welsh to help you learn the beautiful language. Details of how to enter our competition to win a language course are at the bottom of our news.
Jin Eui Kim
I’m incredibly drawn to these intriguing ceramics. They are almost impossibly precise and the colours are utterly gorgeous.
Selwyn House
Who doesn’t love a hand-turned bowl, board or spoon? These caught my eye for their modern, yet timeless shapes.
Fern Robinson
Fern’s playful mixed-media jewellery is uplifting and innovative. You just know that when you wear a piece you’d get compliments on it all day.
Bronwen Gwillim
Bronwen’s sculptural jewellery is dramatic but also very wearable, and I love the fact that it’s made from recycled materials.
Kate Kato
These tiny paper sculptures are extraordinary. Their exquisitely realistic detail is awesome, but they convey a great sense of artistry, too.
Katherine Sorrell has recently published a book, Make: Cornwall, with photographer Anya Rice. The book is a behind-the-scenes look at the studios, processes and products of 25 contemporary craftspeople from the far South West. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS

Win a course by Say Something in Welsh
This is a fresh new approach to learning Welsh, and it’s quite simply brilliant! And we should know as our director, Sarah James is currently enjoying the course herself.
Have you seen other people learn Welsh successfully? Do you feel that you just don’t have the time to become a Welsh speaker? Are you worried about making mistakes and does that put you off learning Welsh?
SaySomethinginWelsh will ensure you are not learning in isolation but will provide you with all the friendship and encouragement you need to stay motivated.
We have been given a flagship Saysomethingin course to give away to one lucky entrant. CLICK HERE TO ENTER OUR SAYSOMETHINGINWELSH COMPETITION
