CoucouManou Modern British furniture.
Why? Stunning pieces beautifully made and bringing wood bang up to date with the use of colour. The balance between colour and the natural textures of the wood compliment each other to create stunning statement pieces.
Why? If anyone had told me you could create such contemporary home accessories with the humble knitting needle, I wouldn’t have believed it – then comes along these stunning Strand Lights – created from merino wool in knitted strands which is woven onto a metal frame. Gorgeous.
Why? I really can’t get enough handmade glass whether blown or fused – and few fused glass designers excite like the incredibly successful Jo Downs who pops up all over the country and celebrates 20 years in the contemporary craft market.
Why? Beautiful contemporary design jewellery should be both wearable and catch the eye – and this jeweller has perfectly combined the two to create the wow factor
Why? Slightly cheating with this one as I have been to his studio outside Exeter and learned about how he creates these beautiful things from fused metals and bespoke hammers in a highly skilled talent honed in Japan
