Made by Hand was a joyful weekend of the best contemporary craft in the heart of Cardiff
4000 happy visitors came to Made by Hand over the weekend earlier this month. More people than ever enjoyed meeting 150 of the country's finest designer makers and shopping was at the top of the agenda.
Makers traveled from all across Wales and the UK to City Hall in Cardiff and we loved every minute of it. We hope you did too.

More people than ever took part in our workshops and masterclasses
Our workshop programme was provided by Cardiff Learning and Make it Wales. Our children's workshops were provided by Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre and Kings Monkton School.
Spellbound audiences watched a masterclasses by potter, Jin Eui Kim and listened to textile legend Janet Bolton, set in the stunning surroundings of the Council Chamber
Demonstrations of crafts were sprinkled throughout the event, giving our visitors insight into how things are made.
Made by Hand Pottery Showdown
Our Pottery Showdown proved that carpet and clay can work! Huge thanks to all our heroic Showdowners! We even had a go at blindfold throwing!
Huge thanks to Richard, Tom, Elaine and Clover, our amazing volunteers, Pottery Co-ordinator Margo Schmidt and the irrepressible Billy Adams, not forgetting the magnificent Potclays for the loan of all the kit and supplying the clay. You did us proud!
