Read on for our next 5 Favourites, introducing our new Community Fund, those workshops need booking and win tickets to The Good Life Experience.
We work closely with Period Living at our Craft Festival in Cheltenham, and their Style Editor, Pippa Blenkinsop has kindly chosen 5 Favourites for you to enjoy.
When illustrator Clover Robin posts images of her paper collages on Instagram it always makes me smile, so I’m really looking forward to seeing her work in person. While at first glance her illustrations have an effortless and naive charm, if you look closely you can see that each piece of painted paper has been carefully selected, cut and placed to bring depth and form to the scene.
If you’re a fan of colour then you’ll be drawn like a magpie to Teresa Dune’s hand woven textiles. She brings a fresh approach to traditional weaving methods and her irresistible palette of summer bright warps and wefts are guaranteed to lift the spirits.
Thought crochet was passé? Think again. Textile artist Liz’s Cooksey combines copper and wire with fine crochet to create beautiful contemporary two- and three-dimensional pieces which evoke the timeless beauty of nature.
Amanda’s work combines her two passions – illustration and ceramics. Decorated with quirky illustrations inspired by family life, her pieces are full of personality. Of course, as a fan of period homes, her mini ceramic houses are a particular favourite.
At Period Living we love to see craftspeople putting their own unique twists on traditional design, so I’m excited to see the work of Hopesprings Chairs who will be exhibiting its range of contemporary seating inspired by classic stick-back Windsor models.
Introducing our new Community Fund
As a non-profit making company, if we have any surplus from the Craft Festival in Bovey Tracey, some is invested back into the company and we also give money away to local charities. For many years we supported The Bovey Tracey Youth Café giving them, in excess of £8,000. Our director, Sarah James was also a Trustee for 5 years.
We are now opening out the opportunity to charities, non-profits and local community groups in the TQ13 9 and Heathfield postcode area to be supported by us via our Community Fund.
Applications are now open for 2019 and will be announced at the Craft Festival Preview Evening on June 6th CLICK HERE to apply
