Who's your craft favourite

Who's your craft favourite?
With 4 weeks until Craft Festival Cheltenham opens its doors, we ask design journalist and writer to choose her 5 favourites.
Katherine Sorrell is the author of Make: Cornwall, a new hardback book about 25 contemporary Cornish makers.
Abigail’s work is a delightful collection of contrasts: her combinations of traditional, matt terracotta with upbeat pops of shiny colour and pattern are so eye-catching. Her ceramics are usable and decorative – and they make me feel happy!
When the tones are natural, shapes and textures really sing out. Emphasising the natural beauty of wood, the homeware pieces by this husband-and-wife team are deceptively simple, beautifully considered, and very appealing.
Katie’s sophisticated sense of colour and pattern make her knitted fashion and interior collections striking and very useable. With Welsh, Scandi and Moroccan influences, they create a covetable, classic/contemporary vibe.
Jodie’s graceful, swirling loops are so elegant. They are both simple and dramatic (no easy feat), and eminently wearable.
Francesca Kay poetry and print
As a writer and craft lover, I’ve got to choose a maker who combines my two favourite things. Francesca is a ‘word artist’ – a poet, letterpress printer and gentle, subversive humourist whose work is, pleasingly, just a little bit off the wall.
Meet Rubbish Portraits at Craft Festival Cheltenham
Lucie Sheridan is the artist and founder of Rubbish Portraits which is a Live Art installation. Lucie will be bringing her unique Rubbish Portrait booth to Craft Festival Cheltenham. Your very own limited edition signed portrait is painted by Lucie in ink while you’re seated in her booth.
