Fun for all the Family
Families are warmly welcomed at Craft Festival, nurturing young talent is a key aim and children from 2-18 can enjoy free, drop-in workshops in the Craft Den.
Lead by Devon Guild of Craftsmen, Thelma Hulbert Gallery, Stover School, Pom Stitch Tassel and Meraki Art School, there will be a range of workshops with the theme of “illumination” inspired by Pantone’s Colour of the Year, “Illuminating” which is a shade of yellow.
On Saturday & Sunday, children and adults will be entertained by The Puppetree Company and walkabout theatre by Jonty Depp. There will also be Story Telling by Isabella's Story Bicycle.
Katherine Boyle's 5 Favourites from Bovey Tracey
Katherine is the Communications Manager at the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust. She is always keen to hear from alumni and to share their news with our craft network. Her latest craft addiction is basket weaving.
Isla's evident love of nature and her lush prints of plants, vegetables and flowers transport me back to a childhood growing up in the countryside. The crispness of the lino cuts and rich colours draw me in.
Rosie's functional yet striking spoons look very appealing with their warm tones and smooth lines, with the natural beauty of the wood shining through.
I've always been fascinated by pattern and geometric designs, so I find Laura's vases and teabowls in their glossy greens and blues irresistible.
I've recently started basketweaving and aspire to produce baskets like those made by Mandy, with their distinctive use of colour and design. I also like how she grows, gathers and prepares her own willow to use for the baskets.
Hannah's sculptural silverware looks so tactile and organic, it would be a lovely addition to any home.
