Written: 25 March 2021
Digital Craft Festival Opens Tomorrow
We love a good Festival and we also love The Good Life Society Charlie Gladstone is a hugely generous maverick and heads a creative team that produces a collection of beautiful events (amongst many other things) with real soul. We love what they do.
We asked Charlie to choose his 5 favourites from tomorrow's Digital Craft Festival and he tells us who they are below.
This weekend, you can meet and buy from over 150 carefully selected makers from across the UK and the rest of the World.
There are talks, film screenings, demonstrations, workshops and live interviews. You can follow the daily activity via Instagram @craftfestival and CLICK HERE for the full programme which starts with qigong at 8am.
Katie Lowe
Wonderful colour, confident shapes. For me this strikes exactly the right balance between traditional and modern.
Alex Pole Ironworks
Alex is the resident blacksmith at our festival The Good Life Experience, so I am biased. We have his work in each of our cottages and cabins and Glen Dye. It is beautiful, functional and will last forever.
[vinegar & brown paper]
Again, a craftsperson I have worked with. This is such a strong and original vision.
Anna Cook
I am always in awe of people who cut paper in this way. I love this work’s warmth and wit and its connection to the traditional world of Japanese paper cutting.
Teresa Dunne
Amazing, fresh colours and beautiful traditional techniques.
The Final Places are available
There are very limited places left on some of the LIVE events at Digital Craft Festival, which need booking in advance.
You can listen to inspirational makers and well being experts talk about their work and strategies to leading a healthier and happier life.
