Meet our Award Winners from Craft Festival Cardiff
We can’t believe it is already 7 days since we starting setting up Craft Festival Cardiff. Thank you to the 143 makers and thousands of visitors who supported the event. It was a blast!
Meet our Award Winners: Potter, Lowri Davies was awarded Craft Festival Best Maker in Wales, Potter Russell Kingston was awarded Craft Festival Best Stand, Leatherworker Fflur Owen was awarded Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre Showcase Award, Jeweller Lindsey Mann was awarded Makers Guild in Wales Showcase Award, jeweller Abbie Gaiger was awarded the madebyhandonline.com Best New Business Award and woodworkers, Selwyn House were madebyhandonline.com Highly Commended Best New Business. Well done to everyone.
You met the makers, watched demonstrations, had your portrait painted, learned a new craft, printed with mastermakers, made new friends and found new makers. It was a great weekend and we are so grateful for the opportunity to share such incredible talent with an appreciative audience.
Thank you for joining us for, what was, the final Craft Festival at City Hall. We are very sorry to leave but we are making our way to the city of Bath next November. The reason for leaving is predominantly that the venue has become too expensive to hire, now that Cardiff Council has withdrawn its discount on the hire. though we searched throughout Cardiff, we could not find an alternative. We are very much hoping to return to Wales so please stay with us whilst we make some exciting plans. In the meantime, we look forward to welcoming you to Craft Festival Cheltenham in March, Bovey Tracey in June and in Bath in November 2020. The new venue, the Assembly Rooms, is a stunning, Georgian space in a beautiful part of Bath, just off the City Centre. A new website and more details will be published very soon.
I hope you have a great Christmas and look forward to welcoming you to one of our Festivals soon.
Best wishes,
Sarah, Nina, Fran & Kate
