Something New to Enjoy
One of the most important lessons that the pandemic taught us was how to stay moving, when eveything comes to a grinding halt. Not only did we halt, but I could rapidly see us ceasing to exist, if we didn't do something radical.
With huge thanks from the Cultural Covery Fund, we launched Digital Craft Festival and then our long term project, Find a Maker. It was a way forward. A way to keep us present, putting our makers in front of our lovely audience whilst also creating a special community of makers, who raise each other up. And new members have just joined Find a Maker, go take a look here
The Capital of Craft Podcast
One of the highlights of the last year and a bit was recording the stories of makers for our new podcast, The Capital of Craft. We received rave reviews and broadcast 16 episodes. So excited to announce that the new season of The Capital of Craft will broadcast from Thursday November 25th with weaver, lecturer, curator and QEST Scholar, Laura Thomas. FYI Laura will be joining us at Bovey Tracey next year as a demonstrator. Please subscribe to The Capital of Craft now...
There is still time to shop small this Christmas at Digital Craft Festival
Last week we welcomed 100 makers and 6,000 visitors from all over the world to the Digital Craft Festival. There was wall to wall live interviews, demonstrations, talks and workshops. It's still slightly hard to believe.
Our Digital Craft Festival website will remain live until January 1st, so there is still time to browse and shop small this Christmas. CLICK HERE FOR DIGITAL CRAFT FESTIVAL MAKERS
We're still busily downloading all the live activity and you'll be the first to see it. Until next time.
Best wishes,
Sarah
Craft Festival Director
